Seal! The Deal!

July 21st, 2009

Seal The Deal!

I am staying in this amazing old medieval walled city in France and two days ago I noticed Seal and his band checking in for a sold out show they were doing. Two of his crew, the sound and guitar techs are total photography geeks like me and I offered to take them out into the countryside for a day of hiking and shooting. The photos we got were amazing.

Last night when I got back to the hotel for a day of shooting with Maryanne there was a note under our door with tickets and passes for the show. The note on the package said Seal would like to meet you and your wife.

It turns out the Seal has a total passion for photography and spends a great deal of time shooting and printing his work. After the fantastic show he had us come back and we talked about photography and his passion for all things photographic. We are going to hook up when he is back in LA and many of his band and road crew are coming to the opening of our film Aug 7th in Hollywood.

If you ever get the chance go see this amazing talent! If you want to hear the full power of Jeff Beck and Seal download a version of Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression” they did together, one of the most amazing songs I have heard either of them do.

Cheers!

Mark Had A Banging Birthday

July 19th, 2009
The 17th was Mark’s birthday.  We celebrated on stage by unveiling our newest shirt, the “I wanna bang like Mark” shirt.  It’s a limited edition and will only be available for a short time for our LA drummer and birthday boy.  There was a toast with champagne on stage at the House of Blues.
“Yea, the silly string was all over me and my drums for the next day and a half but the gifts and cake from the World Crew were really awesome.  Thank you guys so much, you really helped make this one special.”
But another thunderstorm in Houston, the next day (two House of Blues in a row!) had us confined to the bus for a while.  There was a small window in the rain and lightening and we made a run for it into the venue (literally) through a back door in the dining room!!  But the show was great, thanks to another great crowd in Houston.  Our last date in Texas is in Abilene at the Midnight Rodeo, see you all there.
thank you!!!!!

Tour & Tornado – Not A Good Mix

July 17th, 2009

First of all a big thanks to everyone who bought the new album Tri-Polar on Tuesday, you guys rock!  Don’t forget, we’re doing a CD Search and you can win some awesome prizes.  Check out all the details on our MySpace or at the World Crew:  http://sickpuppiesworldcrew.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2591

Second, Oklahoma City was hit by a tornado (almost) while we were at KATT doing a live broadcast today.  The twister didn’t hit the ground, but the wind and rain were really bad.  We had to evacuate everyone from the bus.  The good news is that by the time we got back to the Diamond Ballroom for tonight’s gig  it had passed.   Not that it stopped the fans from coming out, thank you all for braving the storm to come see us.  Puppies fans are the best fans on the planet.

Now we’re on to Dallas where Mark will be celebrating his birthday as we do our TMobile in-store performance in Richardson, TX and then play the House of Blues.  After that, we hit Houston.  Hope to see you guys there.
